Coach's Message

Our 2009 Newport Harbor Baseball Team looks to be a very exciting group with five starters returning from the 2008 campaign. The off-season training has been excellent. This group has worked very hard in the weight room and on the field. The overall depth on this years roster has allows us to have a lot more competition in practice. This should help raise the level of play of all three levels.

Top returnees include: (P)Scott Ward, (1B)Alex Rios (3B/P) Cody Green: A deep junior class includes ’08 2nd Team All league selections (SS) Jacob McCann and 2nd Team All League (P/CF) Dylan Freiberg, (OF )Kyle Cablay, (P) Ryan Albert, (P/OF) Jack Grace and (C) Blake Davey.

Others expected to contribute are Seniors (P) Nick Vlahakis, (P) Arturo Vazquez, Junior (2B) Austin Wobrock. Overall team speed has improved with the addition of juniors (OF) Logan Mowery, (OF) Rich Lowery and (OF) Dan Hurley.

Hard work and dedication will continue to be key factors meeting the team goals.
